Reflect to refresh your brain and your life

thoughts of success

“Power is so characteristically calm, that calm itself has the aspect of strength.”

Edward George Bulwer-Lytton (1803-1873)

Daily, several times a day, we need to take a mental break. It doesn’t matter if you are twelve or ninety-two, we all need this.

It is a simple process. I know you are busy and have a lot on your mind. There are many important personal and professional things to attend to. However, you need a moment to relax, refresh yourself and feel the good around you.

It is good for the mind and body to reflect. Take a few seconds to reflect on each of these thoughts. It will add a little lift to your day.

–What is something close to you that you are grateful to have?

–Who is someone who loves you and is there for you?

–How about your health is good?

–What is something you did recently that you enjoyed?

What is something you find humor in?

–What can you do to help someone, and how would you feel when you do it?

–Relax your mind and body and notice how peaceful that is?

–What do you have coming that you are waiting for?

–Who do you get to see today at home or at work that you really like?

–What contribution have you made lately?

–What vacation did you take that you enjoyed a lot and why?

–What can you do today to take even better care of yourself than you normally do?

If you don’t take good care of yourself, who will?

Take a moment to regularly reflect on one or more of these positive focused thoughts. Print this list and keep it where you will see it every day. Pick one, and then spend a little time thinking about it and the richness these kinds of thoughts bring to your life.

Take a moment today to pause and reflect.

Yes, there is covid in the world.

Yes, you could have more money or toys.

Yet life still holds richness, beauty, and wonder.

Take the time to notice all the good around you.

It may not be perfect, but there’s still a lot to be grateful for.

As you go about your day today, take pauses to reflect.

Don’t live today by chance. Intentionally look for the good in your life.

When you see it, pause for a moment and feel gratitude for the good.

Make today a great day! Dr Larry
