So, start in the same way as with the simple Windsor knot. Once you’ve wrapped the wide end of the tie through the “V” for the first time, do the same for the opposite part of the “V.” The key to a good double Windsor is to make sure each wrap overlaps. There shouldn’t be any space inside the “V”!

If you start with the single Windsor knot and then practice the double Windsor for 10-15 minutes, you’ll be in good shape.

The Double Windsor knot is one of the largest and most symmetrical tie knots. It’s a great looking knot for shirts with a wider collar and if you’re wearing an Italian silk tie. Italians especially value the larger-looking, triangular shape of the Double Windsor.
