What domain name should I choose?

This is an excelent question. Let’s say I’m starting a
new company online I have decided the name of my company.
and it is already confirmed as registered. For example me
I have called my company Joe’s Trading Inc and I sell cheap
widgets Now I need to get my domain name. Then what do I do
choose?

First, let’s start with the actual company name. My business
is called Joe’s Trading Ltd, so it makes sense that it should
register joestradingltd.com or joestrading.com or
joestrading.co.uk right?

No… this is not the best option…

When I register a domain name there are some important factors
What do I need to bring on board? First, what is the purpose
of the domain? Is it the purpose of the corporate brand or is it
to drive traffic to my website?

Well if I’m running ‘IBM’ or ‘MacDonalds’ then sure
branding is a clear consideration, but ‘Joes Trading Ltd’
just want to make blue widget sales online and
hopefully many, many sales. My real priority is to generate
so much website traffic directed to my site to convert
dirty

My business is selling widgets. This is my target market
and my unique selling position is that they are really
cheap. But what does this have to do with my domain name?

Everything’s good!

The domain name itself is a huge factor that search engines
consider when they automatically decide the importance of
sites they choose to index in their search results.
in search engines. And today, search engines provide 90% of
website traffic. In fact, in recent studies, it has been
discovered that the domain name represents 30% of all
factors that the search engine decides are important to
rank a website

Mastery is really THAT important!

So what makes a top ranking domain name? Well first of all
shorter better. There is a clear correlation between
the length of the domain and its ranking is the search
results. Second, the domain must include the keyword for
you want to rank high. In this case, Joes Trading Ltd.
sells widgets, so the domain must contain widgets. Tea
widgets are cheap, so the domain could be cheapwidgets.com.
This domain will rank higher in search
engines for the search term ‘widgets’ or ‘cheap widgets’
of what ‘joestrading.com’ could never hope to achieve

A higher ranking means more traffic, which in turn means more
sales and profit. So when it comes to buying your domain
make search engine ranking your number one priority.
