Shopping on the Gold Coast

With a plethora of malls and arcades open for late-night shopping seven days a week, it’s hard to know where to start your retail therapy in Surfers Paradise. Here are some suggestions.

Surfers Paradise Boulevard: This is considered the epicenter of all shopping. Here you can find strip stores like Circle on Cavill and Chevron Renaissance. There are also many other boutiques and accessories stores such as Zimmerman, Sportsgirl, Toy and Le Mouton, Via La Mode and Wigs at Maryon’s European Designer Shoes & Accessories.

Elkhorn Avenue – As you head to the beach at the end of the Avenue, you can enjoy shopping for some of the most exclusive brands. Stores you can explore here include Prada, Bally’s, the Hourglass Watch store, Hermes, Motegi USA, and Cartier.

Avenida de las Orquídeas: At night it is a famous strip of discos and fun nights. During the day, you can browse designer boutiques and stores, including Phases for Men and Cadillac Cowboy (which have a wide variety of brands geared toward men). The Forum Arcade is the place for you when looking for brands like Louis Vuitton, Loewe and Charles Jourdan.

Cavill Avenue – More luxury brands can be found at the DFS Galleria. Brands include Coach, Bvlgari, Tiffany and Co, Christian Dior, Burberry and Fendi, some at duty-free prices. For casual clothing, Gold Coast style, try the surf shops: Cult and City Beach. The lush Circle on Cavill is home to exclusive Gold Coast brands as well as international and Australian fashion and cosmetics brands.

Centro: Surfers Paradise’s is also home to Centro, the largest shopping mall in the area. They have over 100 stores that specialize in beach, swim, and resort wear, along with the latest fashions. As well as shopping, there is a wonderful open-air restaurant, as well as a Woolworths supermarket and an Australian Post shopping centre.

The Esplanade Markets – Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30 pm to 10 pm, these markets turn into an exciting mix of unique, locally made products. It houses 120 stalls and is the Gold Coast’s only beachfront night market. It’s also a great place to pick up gifts for your family and friends back home.
