Conquer eczema with 5 easy steps

Do you suffer from eczema? I can understand your frustration because I am one of them too. Eczema is much easier to prevent than to treat, but there is always an occasional flare-up and it is very difficult to cure. Until now. I’m excited to share 5 steps that work for me.

Step 1. Clean affected skin with mild soap

Use PEARS soap with warm water, not hot.

If you’re like me, you avoid soap because it dries out your skin. However, I have found that Pears soap is different, at least for me. It cleans and never stings, and my impression is that it even moisturizes a bit. Pears are not easy to find, so when I see them in a store, I buy several bars. Keep an eye out for Pears at the Big Lots or at one of the dollar stores.

Step 2. Dry the skin without rubbing

After gently washing, pat with a clean, dry towel. Don’t rub, no matter how good it feels.

That already feels better, right?

Step 3. Disinfect the rash with alcohol swabs.

I bought a box of individually wrapped alcohol swabs, but a bottle of alcohol and swabs would work just as well. Gently clean the red spots on the skin. The alcohol will sting for 30 seconds or so on the first application. I was surprised by that! However, the stinging decreases each time the skin heals. Why booze? I had heard that soaking in bath water containing a bit of bleach helps cure eczema, so I decided it needed to be disinfected. I already had alcohol wipes as a hobby so I tried using them and it definitely helped my skin.

Step 4. Hydrocortisone

People suffering from eczema should always have generic hydrocortisone on hand. HAS very small amount is all that is needed. apply and gently rub until the cream is absorbed.

Step 5. Hydrate

This last step may be the most important. I have tried many, many lotions and there is almost always an irritation or stinging that causes the rash to intensify. But not with Yu-Be. I got a free sample of Yu-Be in my bag when I shopped at Sephora and I liked it so much I bought a larger 1.25 oz tube on Amazon. Made in Japan, it is a concentrated glycerin moisturizer enriched with vitamins B2, C, E and camphor. It smells like camphor, it’s thick and smooth. I use Yu-Be on the eczema patches until they are gone.

Try these steps twice a day and the rash should clear up in three to four days, leaving your skin soft and smooth. Good luck.
