Birthday Themes – Best Birthday Themes for Boys and Girls

Everyone loves a good birthday, especially with a fun theme! There are many different themes for birthdays. Whether it’s a luau, princess or jungle theme, friends will enjoy it anyway! Here are some cheap but fun ideas for a fun and exciting birthday party.

LUAU THEME:

This theme works for boys AND girls!

SETTING: Set up large pavilions, according to the number of guests you invited. Cut up exotic and tropical fruits like: bananas, strawberries, pineapples, mangoes, and kiwis, and place them in two large bowls for people to eat. Set up lawn chairs for guests to relax on. Invite everyone to dress up in straw skirts, lei’s, etc. Plan games like: putting the coconut in the palm tree, scavenger hunts, and balloon tossing. No matter the age, everyone will enjoy a good game.

NEEDED SUPPLIES: paper, fruits, balloons, scavenger hunt list, with hidden items, grass skirts, garlands which are available at any party store.

PRINCESS THEME:

This theme is for girls!

SETTING: Girls love to dress up as princesses, but their favorite thing is to dress up with their friends and have a princess party! Send invitations to all of your girls’ friends and ask them to dress in the theme. Set up a large table with princess plates, cups, and a tablecloth. Have all the princesses make their own tiara out of paper (or cardstock). They could decorate their crown with buttons, glitter, and plastic jewels. Plan more activities and then eat cake and ice cream!

NEEDED SUPPLIES: invitations, paper, glue, plastic jewelry, buttons, glitter, cake, ice cream, princess plates, glasses and tablecloth.

JUNGLE THEME:

This theme is for boys!

SETTING: Kids love a good safari! Take some paper bags, twist and staple them together to make long jungle vines. Using green construction paper, cut out green leaves and tape or staple them to the vines. You can buy lots of plastic spiders, lizards, creepy crawlies and jungle stuffed animals like a tiger, hippo, monkey and then litter the floor with them. Have everyone cut through the jungle vines in hopes of finding a secret treasure, which could be a pinata or possibly a chest full of candy and/or toys.

NEEDED SUPPLIES: tape or staples, safari hats, paper bags, green construction paper, plastic spiders, lizards, creepy crawlies, stuffed animals, secret treasures, and candy.
