“Big Brother” TV Phenomenon – Reduction of Society Values

So-called reality shows like “Big Brother” are aimed at those in our society who prefer to “numb” their intelligence. And just look at the size of the audience that you schedule like this command.

This is actually very good news for those of us who loathe crap like this. Why? With so many people committing to this pointless charade, there is a relatively small percentage left who would rather do something to improve their knowledge and intelligence.

While everyone else is engrossed in the pathetic, crude, and often vulgar behavior presented to us by TV moguls as “entertainment,” those of us who refuse to be fooled may be doing many other worthwhile things. pity, like:

  • reading a book,
  • watching an educational program such as a documentary,
  • write a letter or an article,
  • studying for exams,
  • engage in meaningful conversation,
  • visit a relative or friend,
  • looking for information on the internet,
  • attend an evening sporting event
  • go to eat,
  • practicing a musical instrument,
  • playing a board game.
  • Any of the above are far more dignified pursuits than watching a group of talented scoundrels engage in voyeuristic behavior.

Just in case, I haven’t made myself clear: yes, I HATE TV nonsense like “Big Brother.” There are many other similar stupid TV offers, but BB, as it is affectionately called, is, in my opinion, the most insidious. She’s almost like a template for ratbag behavior, something the world certainly doesn’t need!

As far as entertainment value goes, BB is about as childish as can be. One can only assume that the intention of this particular show is to feed the voyeuristic nature of society. What amazes me is the fact that so many people expect to see these D-grade aspiring actors frolicking around nude and semi-nude and engaging in the most lewd behavior. Is that entertainment? I do not think.

There is another option you could add to the above list: sleep. It would be much more beneficial.

Just so you know, yes, I’ve seen bits and pieces of this crap. I went through several short segments just to see what so many other people were so enamored with.

So, for all those people who have been mesmerized by this assault on our intelligence, I suggest this alternative:

Go to your local bookstore and buy a copy of Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich.” The next time you feel like looking at such bombastic garbage, read a chapter of this wonderful book. It will put streets ahead of the onlookers.
