Window cleaning, do I do it or pay for it?

It’s that time of year again. You go to the garage and try to clean up the mess to get the ladder, buckets, rags and a bottle of Windex. Now the fun can begin as you look at the daunting task ahead. Two stories of dirty old windows and insect screens, waiting to be rid of a year or more of accumulated dust, hard water stains, and all too familiar insect and bird droppings. No matter how many times you’ve cleaned in the past, and no matter how many different strategies you’ve tried, window cleaning never gets easier or faster.

It seems like there should be an easier way, and I wish I could tell you that there is. Unfortunately, if you want your window to be really clean, with no annoying streaks or smudges, there’s only one way to do it. Get face to face with the glass and clean until the window is no longer noticeable. That is if you insist on doing it yourself, of course. There is an easier way to clean your windows if you choose to have someone else clean them for you.

There are many advantages to having a professional window cleaning company, aside from the obvious drawback of doing it yourself. Professional window cleaners don’t just come to your door with a bottle of window cleaning solution and wash the window with a spray bottle and some paper towels, which is impossible to do without leaving streaks if you’ve ever tried it on last. The professionals come with the right equipment needed to not only clean your windows, but to clean them streak-free, and in a fraction of the time you could do it yourself. If you are like me, and time is money, then the professional is probably cheaper than yourself. The most important reason to hire a professional window cleaner is safety. Working on ladders, no matter how high, is dangerous work. The professionals take this risk from you.

The next time you look out the window and find yourself having trouble seeing, ask yourself if you have the time, energy, or patience to tackle the task on your own. If you don’t have enough time and energy, call your local window cleaner. They’ll be glad you did, and you will be too.
