When a man is ready to ejaculate, his body will go through a series of events.

You will see an increase in the size of the head of the penis and the head may also change to a purple color. Your Cowper’s glans will secrete “precum” fluid that drips from your urethra. Your tests will move towards your body and increase in size. Additionally, you may experience body flushing, muscle tension, increased heart rate, and increased blood pressure.

Just before ejaculation, you will feel contractions in your vas deferens, seminal vesicles, and prostate, causing seminal fluid (ejaculate) to collect in a pool at the base of your penis. You will feel a ‘tickling’ type sensation. When you are ready to ejaculate, you will feel a “throbbing” around your urethra.

Ejaculation will leave your penis at about the same travel speed as a city bus, about 28 miles per hour. But it can reach speeds of 43 miles per hour depending on how long it’s been since it last came. (It’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye!)

Once you have ejaculated, your scrotum and testicles will return to their normal size. She will have a general feeling of relaxation and experience a refractory period (where she is physically unable to have another erection). This period can be anywhere from a few minutes to much longer depending on your age.

Sex Tip: Unless he’s at the point of no return, you can prevent him from ejaculating by firmly (but very gently) squeezing the tip of his penis.
